"PLUGGER is the new thing that will shake rock"
ENNIO MORRICONE upon listening a PLUG dedicated to his work
PLUGGER was created in 2014 by experimental composer and multimedia contemporary artist Alex Braga with a little help from his friends.
A provocative art project that is trying to re-shape the concept of sampling but also a superfun audiovisual experience to rock the dancefloors, festivals, venues, museums and cultural centers.
PLUGGER is quickly breaking in the european scenes with releases on prestigious and supercool labels such as RE_CYCLE#1 on spanish ThisAndThat with Davide Squillace, SPUTNIK/KOROLEV on english based TestCardRecordings with indie rock idols PublicServiceBroadcasting and has being selected to join the exclusive BedRockRecords family for the "Live in South Beach 2015 Compilation" nothing less than Mr John Digweed.
This super year 2015 follows the self released double indie debut "This Is Not a Record", a mixture of retro-avantgarde electronic music and powerful hypnotic groove, that has gaind PLUGGER flattering reviews all over Europe, like the bible of electronic DJMAG U.K. "A thrilling unexpected ride (7,5/10)" or the trend hunter FAZE MAGAZINE "So original but als so much fun (8/10)".
PLUGGER was also selected to perform at SONARD+, the most avanguardistic branch of SONAR FESTIVAL in 2014 and has performed for MTV BRAND NEW as well as clubs, contemporary art museums and cultural centers.
"I met PLUGGER 2 years ago in Ibiza and was amazed by the power and psychedelia of the music, as well as the impressive multimedial liveshow" says electronic tastemaker Davide Squillace, one of the stars of CIRCOLOCO, "and I decided I was going to extend the provocation PLUGGER is bringing in music into the dancefloor!".
PLUGGER as a concept is the process of overseeing a band/artist's entire back catalogue, extracting parts and pieces from existing records and reshaping them into an entirely fresh original composition : no other external sound is addedor allowed...otherwise it's not a PLUG!
The artwork for all of the project is again a composite of recycled album covers and original video footage, cleverly sticking with the format and offering again something striking and unique.
PLUGGER is also researching a lot in the field of innovation, thanks to the superskills of Berlin based Enzo Pietropaolo, engineer at Native Instruments, working along with Alex Braga to develope the interactive performances.
PLUGGER is an open project and is Alex Braga and his friends...anonymous or less anonymous artists from all over the world.
